Product decision game 01

The War Room - a stakeholder decision game for product managers

The War Room is a free browser game about the part of product management nobody puts on a slide: ten rooms, ten competing stakeholders, and no answer that keeps everyone happy. You play as Aniket Mishra for one shift, and every call you make moves three meters at once.

01

How the game works

Each round hands you one real-feeling dilemma - an executive wanting a launch date pulled in, an engineer flagging debt, a customer escalating, compliance raising a flag. You choose option A or option B. There is no skip button, because product leaders rarely get one.
02

The three meters you are balancing

Stability, Growth and Morale all start at 50%. Shipping fast usually buys Growth and costs Stability. Protecting the team usually buys Morale and costs Growth. If any meter hits zero, the core melts and the shift ends early.
03

What it actually tests

Trade-off thinking under pressure: stakeholder management, technical debt judgement, risk appetite and the discipline to keep a system healthy while still moving it forward. It is closer to a product manager interview case than to a quiz.
04

How you are ranked

At the end you get a rank based on how balanced the three meters are, plus a product title that describes the leader you played as. The card pool is large and shuffled every run, so two playthroughs rarely look the same. Best scores stay in your own browser - nothing is sent anywhere.
